RACHEL COLE SHERR
Rachel Cole Sherr is a New York-based art advisor who works in the acquisition, curation, and placement of contemporary art. Drawing from her experience and expertise in the art world, Rachel works closely with clients to develop private collections and facilitate museum donations. Her researched and discerning eye for contemporary art as well as her close relationships with galleries, museums, and collectors are invaluable assets to her clients.
Rachel is specifically dedicated to placing emerging artists who are underrepresented in the public art space, including women, BIPOC, and LGBTQ+ artists. Alongside her work to diversify collections, Rachel frequently places mid-career and established artists via primary and secondary market acquisitions. Rachel represents select private collections based in the United States and internationally, and has facilitated museum donations to LACMA, the Brooklyn Museum, Hammer Museum, SFMOMA, ICA Miami, Baltimore Museum of Art, High Museum of Art, Museum of Fine Arts Boston, and other institutions.
Rachel was recently awarded Forbes 30 Under 30, Class of 2022 in the Art & Style category. She first entered the art world in 2013 and has worked at institutions including the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and Christie’s Auction House. She co-founded Vernissage Art Advisory in 2017 and subsequently founded Rachel Cole Art Advisory in 2019. Rachel graduated from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) with a dual BA degree in Art History and Psychology, and she is currently pursuing her MA in Art History at Hunter College focusing on eighteenth-century Europe.
