Rachel Cole is the principal of her New York-based art advisory firm, focused on the acquisition, curation, and placement of contemporary art. Drawing from her experience and expertise in the art world, Rachel works closely with clients to develop private and institutional collections. Her researched and discerning eye for contemporary art and her close relationships with galleries, museums, and collectors are invaluable assets to her clients.

 

Rachel has spent much of her career placing minority artists who have been historically underrepresented in the public art space (including women, BIPOC, and LGBTQIA+ artists). Alongside her work to diversify private collections, she has facilitated museum donations to LACMA, the Brooklyn Museum, Hammer Museum, SFMOMA, Whitney Museum, Baltimore Museum of Art, High Museum of Art, Museum of Fine Arts Boston, and many more. Rachel also frequently places mid-career and established artists via primary and secondary market acquisitions.

Rachel was the first art advisor to join the Forbes 30 Under 30 list, Class of 2022 in the Art & Style category. She has worked in the art world for over a decade, beginning at institutions including the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and Christie’s Auction House. She founded Rachel Cole Art Advisory in 2019 and the art-tech platform, romulus.art in 2023. Rachel holds a dual BA in art history and psychology from the University of Michigan and an MA in art history from Hunter College.
