Rachel Cole is principal of her New York-based art advisory firm, focused in the acquisition, curation, and placement of contemporary art. Drawing from her experience and expertise in the art world, Rachel works closely with clients to develop private and institutional collections. Her researched and discerning eye for contemporary art as well as her close relationships with galleries, museums, and collectors are invaluable assets to her clients.

 

Rachel has made her career by placing minority artists who have been historically underrepresented in the public art space, including women, BIPOC, and LGBTQIA+ artists. Alongside her work to diversify private collections, she has facilitated museum donations to LACMA, the Brooklyn Museum, Hammer Museum, SFMOMA, Whitney Museum, Baltimore Museum of Art, High Museum of Art, Museum of Fine Arts Boston, and other institutions. Rachel also frequently places mid-career and established artists via primary and secondary market acquisitions.

Rachel is part of the Forbes 30 Under 30 Class of 2022 in the Art & Style category. She first entered the art world in 2013 and has worked at institutions including the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and Christie’s Auction House. She co-founded Vernissage Art Advisory in 2017, Rachel Cole Art Advisory in 2019, and the art-tech platform, romulus.art in 2023. Rachel holds a dual BA in art history and psychology from the University of Michigan, and an MA in art history from Hunter College.
