
Rachel Cole Art Advisory (RCAA) is a New York–based advisory specializing in the acquisition, placement, and long-term stewardship of modern and contemporary art.
The firm works closely with collectors and family offices to build and refine significant collections, providing bespoke guidance tailored to each client’s collecting vision while facilitating acquisitions and placements across both private and institutional contexts. Operating at the intersection of the primary and secondary markets, RCAA sources works directly from galleries, artists, estates, and private collections.
RCAA also collaborates with donors and museums to facilitate acquisitions and promised gifts, supporting placements with institutions including the Brooklyn Museum, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, among others.
Committed to supporting artists, collectors, and cultural institutions alike, the advisory approaches its work as part of a broader ecosystem that sustains the arts and fosters meaningful engagement with contemporary culture. RCAA works across emerging, mid-career, and established artists, with a particular focus on practices receiving increasing institutional recognition and curatorial attention.
Maddie Levin is an Advisor at Rachel Cole Art Advisory, where she works closely with collectors, galleries, and institutional partners across acquisitions, research, and transaction management.
At RCAA, Levin plays a central role in sourcing works, conducting market research, and coordinating acquisitions across the primary and secondary markets. She oversees many of the firm’s day-to-day transactions, working with galleries, collectors, and logistics partners to ensure the smooth execution of purchases, sales, and placements.
In addition to supporting acquisitions, Levin contributes to artist research, market analysis, and the preparation of materials for collectors and institutional collaborations.
Levin holds a BA from New York University and an MA in Contemporary Art from Sotheby’s Institute of Art, where her thesis focused on an extensive study of contemporary portraiture.

Over the past decade, Cole has worked closely with collectors, galleries, and institutions to build significant collections and facilitate strategic acquisitions across the primary and secondary markets. Her practice frequently bridges the private and public sectors of the art world, structuring transactions that place works in both major private collections and leading museum holdings.
Prior to founding RCAA, Cole worked at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and Christie’s Auction House before becoming Director of a contemporary art gallery in Los Angeles. In 2019 she established Rachel Cole Art Advisory to provide collectors with independent guidance on acquisitions, collection development, and institutional placement.
Cole was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in Art & Style and has facilitated placements of works in major museum collections internationally.
She holds a dual BA in Psychology and Art History from the University of Michigan and an MA in Art History from Hunter College.
